The first month of investing in Amsterdam housing will take place at a reduced, early-bird 🦅 rate. Here is how the build-up of the price will be:
On September 1, at 12:00 CET, the sale of AMS tokens begins at 900 euro. AMS tokens represent a piece of Amsterdam housing for you to buy and benefit from. The price will then increase according to the S-shaped curve above during the month, before reaching the normal value of 1,000 euro on September 30.
The early-bird rate is to stimulate you to get in early and already get some return on investment straight away. However, the idea is that this is only the beginning: from October 1, the price of the AMS token will vary with the Amsterdam house prices that historically have grown more than 10 percent per year.
The behaviour we’re trying to stimulate
amsterdreams is all about transparency. Therefore, let us explain why we chose the shape of the price curve during the month of September.
The idea was to give early adopters an advantage, hence the low starting price. At the same time, we want the price to only increase gradually during the first few days: in other words, we don’t want to penalize you if you are a couple of days ‘late’. After all, we realize you have other things to do.
Towards the half of the month, there is a sharper increase. This is the incentive to at least get in relatively early. Finally, the speed of increase tapers off, to still create an advantage for you if you want to get in relatively early, compared to just waiting till October.
Selling your AMS again
Continuing to put our cards on the table, we wanted to avoid ‘speculation’. Working with amsterdreams is investing in Amsterdam housing; it’s not supposed to be short trading on the stock market to make a quick buck. There is already too much of that going on in the world, in our humble opinion.
All the same, we were not comfortable with introducing a ‘freeze period’: you can buy early, but you can’t sell until date X. It’s your money, after all. Your circumstances may change unexpectedly and you may need it. Who knows, right?
That’s why from day one, we are introducing swap.amsterdreams.com. This website, which is a simpler version of the well-known Uniswap platform, will allow you to swap AMS tokens with others, for other tokens that can represent (for example) euro’s or dollars. You can also use the regular Uniswap, by the way, if you prefer – the underlying technology is the same.
